The water for the mill will come from the Trevallyn Dam. It comes from the existing water supply for the Trevallyn Power Station and will not take additional water from the dam. It represents 1.3% of the average annual flow of water from the dam to the power station (this water does not flow through the Gorge). This water allows the mill to produce 180MW of electricity which will be used to power the mill and will produce enough surplus energy to power most of Launceston. Gunns will pay for the water just like any other customer.
